Value Selections: 23rd April, 2018

After a day of close misses yesterday, today produced two good top rated winners as well as a number of other value selections that rolled home. These two really were the icing on the cake. The top rated, Kalmbeforethestorm, won at 14/1. And not long later, down at Windsor we had Air Of York winning… Read More »

County Hurdle, 2018

Day Four of the Cheltenham Festival gives us the wonderful County Hurdle. The ratings were spot on with this one. The top rated Mohaayed wins at 33/1 (though available at 70s on the exchanges) and the second home was third-rated Remiluc at 50/1.

A New Meaning of ‘Value’

To us Value simply means a horse’s chance of winning. Here’s an example of an All-Weather race at Southwell. The top rated, and the obvious favourite, is Ray Purchase in a rather tight eight runner handicap. The forecast odds were evens but the UK Horse Racing model gave this one a mere 25% chance of… Read More »
