Today there was another selection which stood out as a Blindingly Obvious Selection.
This was the 3.50 at Lingfield and it rather much stood out and, therefore, was easy to spot.
Looking at all of the Differential Pairs (5 Year, 1 Year and One Race) only one horse had positive values across all six columns: Touch Screen.
Not only did Touch Screen have positives across all of these fields but the total of each pair were rather good and the One Race Differentials (columns dd and e) were quite exceptional. So, these figures alone were a strong positive.
Furthermore, the Cls figure of 27.8 was very high and only one horse had a higher Cls figure. So, this was another positive.
Touch Screen won at 12/1 by six lengths, but those getting on earlier would have had no problems finding this one at 22/1 all the way up to 30/1.
The race report on the Sporting Life site was illuminative; “Chased leading pair, 2nd approaching 3 out, led 2 out, clear when hit last, kept on strongly op 9/1 tchd 7/1”, which suggested that this was a strong selection.
These Blindingly Obvious selections, especially when there’s a strong Cls figure, are very good indeed and simple to spot when they do turn up.
Of course these don’t win all of the time as the other selection of the day showed. The only other one today would have been Miss Clyro (Huntingdon 3.10) which set off at 66/1 and was pulled up early on.
